"The problem, if you have a house, is that there are always things that go wrong or need to be modernised,” say Adam and Orsi.“In our situation, we don't know where to start. The cesspool (septic tank) under the house also needs to be fixed and will cost thousands of euros. Or, do we start with putting insulation in the walls and changing the windows to save some money on heating? But, again, that will costs about EUR 10 000, which we cannot afford. And for these old houses, there is no kind of support from the government."
