Vasile and Victoria Procopiuc pose for a portrait inside their house in Argel, Moldovita. They’ve lived here for decades with no connection to the electricity grid. In the last 25 years, they bought two gas generators for heating and some electricity, but the couple rarely uses the generators due to high gas prices and the difficulty of transporting gas to the hills.
