Traditional wool slippers are vital to keeping feet warm in Ribnovo, a largely Muslim conservative village situated in the Rhodopi Mountains of Bulgaria. Many houses here are not insulated and have old, wooden windows frames with only a single pane of glass. The energy story of Ribnovo follows one extended family linked through the upcoming marriage of a young couple, Schaban Kiselov and Nefie Eminkova.
