Creating Opportunity during COVID-19

With COVID-19 putting business ‘on hold’, many students are left with little chance to gain work experience through summer jobs.

EnAct is asking energy actors to step up!

Interns – often working remotely – have played key roles in EnAct’s development. In turn, the knowledge and skills they gain attract the attention of recruiters for long-term positions.

We’re keen to bring new people on board over the summer of 2020, and on an ongoing basis. For each $4000 raised, we will offer a three-month internship to a dedicated and exceptional student. We hope this campaign will enable us to offer internships to students in multiple countries, thereby giving them the opportunity to work with local experts and our international team.

Interns are given opportunities to write content for diverse media, collaborate with visual storytellers, develop ideas for events and fundraising, and share in the administrative responsibilities of running a non-profit media outlet. They emerge with much deeper knowledge of the energy sector, enhanced research and interviewing skills, and a portfolio of published articles/blogs.

In short, EnAct interns are well-prepared to move into roles that involve communication about energy.

Why become a Member of EnAct?

Did you know that EnAct is run through a non-profit association registered in France? The mission of ACT 4 is to support projects that use the creative arts to raise awareness of under-represented social issues and support public engagement in action to address them.

French associations are encouraged to build up a network of members so that decision-making and actions are collective. EnAct is establishing a membership fee structure that will provide options for individuals, students, other non-profits and corporate partners.

Individual fees are currently set at €200.00 per year for professionals and €25.00 for students.

In return for helping establish base funding for EnAct, Members will receive the following benefits:

  • Photo and bio on EnAct websites, with regular shout-outs on social media channels: This will make you visible as an ‘EnActor’ to our 20,000 followers, as part of our cross-sectoral network of experts or supporters.

  • Monthly webinars covering energy and communications: While free webinars are widely available at present, EnAct will add value to energy talks by building in communications training components. To create more opportunity for discussion and promote future engagement, the webinars will be cross-sectional (i.e. with panelists from diverse perspectives) and limited to small groups. EnAct will publish a blog or produce a podcast based on each webinar.

  • An EnAct t-shirt: Like energy, experts are often somewhat invisible to the general public. An EnAct t-shirt will identify you as someone deeply committed to the right to energy and ready to talk about what that means.

Make a bold statement

To achieve a just, clean energy transition. we need to ensure access to affordable, sustainable resources. We also need to boost understanding of how production and use of energy underpins daily life for people and determines the future of our Planet.
